MEDIA ADVISORY:

WHAT:	Residential Burglaries
WHERE:	South San Jose
WHEN:	Between March 14th and April 7th, 1999
WHO:	Unknown suspect(s)

DETAILS:

An active "cat" burglar has been burglarizing homes in the South San Jose area. The suspect(s) generally strikes between midnight and 5:00 a.m. when the victims are sleeping.

The suspect(s) breaks into vehicles parked at the victim's residence and then gains entry into the garage via a side door. Once inside, the suspect gains entry to the house via the interior garage door, the suspect(s) steals small items such as purses, cell phones, laptop computers etc.

Here is a list of areas where the burglar(s) have recently hit:

• 1200 block of Crossgate Ln., residential burglary
• 200 block of Dondero Wy, residential burglary
• 2100 block of Ebbesen Ave, residential/auto burglary
• 2300 block of Rupert Dr., residential burglary
• 4500 block of Bruswick Ave., residential/auto burglary
• 5300 block of Duesenberg, residential burglary
• 6100 block of Montgomery Pl., residential burglary
• 1900 block of Bernice Wy., residential/auto burglary
• 1600 block of Midfield Ave., residential burglary

REMINDER:

• Please close and lock all windows and doors, even interior doors leading to the garage.
• Should you awake and encounter the burglary in progress, reach a place of safety and immediately dial 911.
• No personal possession is worth risking your life for.
