Subj: Ne'r Do Wells on Viscaino From: [email protected] (Jim Cosgrove) I came home just before 11:30 this evening. I noticed a young, lone black male wearing an orange sweatshirt standing in front of the house across from mine. Scanning up and down the street I also noticed several other young males, either singly or in pairs. I couldn't tell their ethnicity because of distance and darkness. I went inside my house, fully intending to re-check this from my darkened living room. Sure enough, when I came back in about 5 minutes there was a group of eight young men throwing rocks onto the darkened home across the street from ours. I walked out on my porch and yelled to them that they better "get the hell out of here! The cops are comin'!" They quickly split all up and down the street. And I did indeed call the SJPD, who said they'd inform the beat officer. The tip off to me was that this was suspicious was (a) I didn't recognize any of these people as neighbors, and (b) these people weren't enroute any where-- just sort of hanging around. NIMBY JC |
