Subj: Lucky's Survey From: [email protected] I talked to Tom Wilson who is a majority owner of the shopping center. He definately seems to be the type of landlord that doesn't want a demanding tenant. I really don't want Lucky to sell to him. He actually thinks that the 98cent Store is good for the community! If we can't get another grocery store into that space, then I'd like to work closely with Lucky to make sure that they add more stipulations that other undesireable businesses can't be put in that space. We're in danger of finding a gun shop or porno bookstore in that space (note the gun shop over by OSH.) Another type of store to consider is a bookstore or teacher supply store. Maybe Stacey's, Cody's, Ava Maria, or the East-West Bookshop is looking to expand. The LDS bookstore on Wyrick is awfully crowded, maybe they could use a new location. Additionally, the San Jose Quilt Museum is always looking for a new home. If all else fails, then expanding into the 98 cent Store space or dividing the old Lucky space may have to be considered. The key is to make sure that Lucky's retains control until a new tenant is found. I'm convinced that our community will be a lot better off as soon as Tom Wilson is out of the way. Catherine Hepner |
