We are always looking for help in making Santa Teresa County Park a better and safer place for our community and need input from more community members. Highlights of this particular meeting include introduction of new members and nominations for board election in March, an invitation to the general public to raise additional issues of concern not addressed on the agenda, a discussion of future programs that are planned for the Joyce Bernal facility which has been recently renovated and will open in several months, yeahs and nays regarding housing the county mounted patrol at the Buck Nords horse ranch, and planning for upcoming activities. I am new to this so if you want more sophisticated answers I'll channel your questions or concerns to Mike Boulland--trust me, he's hard to get hold of! That's why I'm doing this. Furthermore, for those of us new to this area (I was born and raised and Brooklyn and came here from New Jersey after marrying my husband from Scotland, three + years ago), who are yearning for positive neighborhood experiences, this is a good opportunity! And for those old timers, just think you get to meet other old timers and us new folks all together--that's why I like this group! It represents a real mix of people who can actually tell us the history of this area and entrust us with its legacy as we try to link together environmental concerns, historical preservation, and community service to people of all ages and backgrounds. It's not a closed group, very very friendly!!!! |
