Subj: mail theft From: [email protected] (Jona Hamilton) Hello, Last week I noticed what I thought was a pile of trash in the bushes in Manresa Court Park (off of Bayliss). When I went to clean it up, I found that it was mail--all from the same household. It contained school correspondence, letters, requests from charities, and magazines. Some of the mail had been opened. Nearby, was a postman, to whom I gave the bundle of mail, after I'd rubber-banded it together. He said he'd report the incident. I hunted down the house to which the mail had been addressed, and left the residents a note with my phone number on it explaining the situation. Several days later, I heard from them. YES, it had been stolen from their mailbox! I now try to get my mail as soon as it's delivered. Sensitive outgoing mail goes in the big, blue post boxes. --Jona Denz-Hamilton |
