Subj: Recycled water From: [email protected] Our region has the highest rate of breast cancer in the country. At any given time, many local cancer patients receive massive doses of chemotherapy drugs. These drugs are excreted in urine and end up in our waste water. Cancer treatment drugs are highly toxic and carcinogenic. With Calpine evaporating three to four million gallons of this waste water a day we need to know what is in it and how drug residue is being removed. This steam will be in the air, land on agricultural land and home gardens, and seep into our ground water. We will breathe, eat, and drink it. To go forward with this project without adequate and complete testing and safeguards for our community is nothing short of criminal negligence. Leanne Riddle |
