When I bought a new water heater at Orchard Supply, they referred me to a plumber who could install it. I was very happy with him. His name is Scotty Orahood. He lives in south San Jose and his number is 408-360-9000.

He picked up the water heater from OSH, installed it, fixed a leaking washer drain pipe, and checked the kitchen drain pipe for leaks. (He was also going to haul away the old water heater, but someone else who was driving by said he would take it.) The cost for all this was much less than the minimum that Sears charges for a water heater install.

In talking to him, I got a real good feeling that he takes a lot of pride in his work and wants to do a good job. I'm thinking of having him re-pipe my house (later this year, if I decide to do it).
